      "Charles M. Chase, died at 12:30 Wednesday morning at his home at Chase near this village. He had been ill for several years. He had always lived in that neighborhood and was a highly respected farmer. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myra Fassett of Toddsville, Mrs. Elizabeth Maples of Oneonta, and Miss Irene Chase, living at home; five sons, Paul of Cooperstown, Lynn and Kerl of Schenectady, Morris and Raymond of Chase; one brother, William Chase; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife, who was formerly Miss Elizabeth Wells, died in 1926. Mr. Chase was a member of Christ church in this village. Several years ago he served three terms as town highway superintendent. The funeral will be held from his home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. Father Miles Lowell Yates, pastor of Christ Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in the Chase cemetery."
