    • Rynella - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella for Clovis Hebert, Jr., 85, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008 in New Iberia.

      Interment will follow in the Broussard Cemetery.

      Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the celebrant.

      A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Clovis passed away peacefully at the residence of his great nephew Michael Dionne and his wife Phyllis. Clovis enjoyed, listening to KXKC, gardening, and going to the casino. Clovis never met a stranger; he loved meeting new people and he touched a lot of lives through his caring personality. Perhaps you have been blessed to have known Clovis or maybe an acquaintance from Meches, where one would see or meet him on a regular basis; he will be missed by all.

      Survivors include his great nephew Michael Dionne and his wife Phyllis, who cared for him from December until his death; his godson, Randy Hebert; sister in law, Alice Hebert and numerous nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis Hebert, Sr. and Edolie Robicheaux Hebert; brothers, Clomare, Joseph, Nelson, Fulton and Deluke Hebert; his sisters, Jeanne Derouen, husband Wilton, Rynella Dionne, husband Ray, Lillie Barrilleaux, husband Kaiser, Rosie Deslatte, husband Luke and Louise Fitch, husband Andrew.

      Pallbearers will be Everette Dionne, Ray Dionne, Michael Dionne and Randy Hebert.

      A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

      The extraordinary and compassionate care given to Clovis during his final days by Hospice of Acadiana and the staff at Iberia Medical is greatly appreciated.
