Notes - Judith Widlake of Glen Burnie died on April 16, in Elkridge, Maryland, after a long illness. She was 83 years old. She was born on April 4, 1934 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1952, and studied music at Columbia College in South Carolina. She was a resident of Glen Burnie for 51 years. Mrs. Widlake was an administrative assistant at both Glen Burnie Park Elementary School and Woodside Elementary School. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret (MacFarlane) Shapland, her husband of 59 years, Kenneth T. Widlake, her sister Barbara Anne (Shapland) Sweatman and her brother Arthur E. Shapland, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Douglas A. Widlake and wife Maureen of Catonsville, Maryland, Susan J. Wyrick and husband Larry of Clifton, Virginia, Scott T. Widlake and wife Melinda of Bethesda, Maryland, David W. Widlake and wife Judy of Eldersburg, Maryland, her sister Jean S. Shapland of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, her grandchildren DJ, Daniel and wife Sarah, Morgan and husband Brendan, Julie, Bennett, Garrett, Nathan, Georgia, Rachel, Evan, Jessie and Charley. The Reverend Dr. Tracey Davenport will conduct a memorial service to be held at Harundale Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 22, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the church columbarium. Memorial donations may be made to the Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060.
