1933 - 2017
Sheila Marie Guiney was born in Lakeview, Oregon in 1933 to Irish immigrant parents May Ann Daly Guiney and Michael Joseph Guiney. She met her Husband Robert J Hill at OSU, they married in 1953. They had 3 children. In 1964 they moved to Eugene and started RJ Hill Engineering Company. Sheila was an avid crafter and artist - Tolle painting, quilting, ceramics, flower arranging, water color and oil painting. She was a founding member of Applegate Art Guild & Gallery in Veneta. She truly enjoyed her time there and spending time with her longtime neighbor friends the "Gimpl Hill Geezers."
Sheila had a number of medical obstacles throughout her life but she overcame all of them with determination and a sense of humor inherited from her father. She passed away in December 2017 after complications from several small strokes. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Robert Hill, her daughters Karen Sharkey of Eugene, Kristina Windheim of Dexter, her grandsons Steve Church of Cheshire, Daniel and Joshua Windheim both of Eugene and her great granddaughters MacKenzie and Harley Church. Her son Mike Hill preceded her in death October 2017.
