    • SPEICHTS, Fred - 68, of Digby, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in the Digby General Hospital. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Nelson and Irene (Smith) Speichts. Fred was a well known hard working auto mechanic and had owned and operated Fred?¢s Auto Service in Digby for many years. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed fishing especially in his retirement with his grandchildren. Fred was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Gloria J. (Smith), Digby; son, Kenneth (Julie), Lantz; daughters, Karen Comeau, Eastern Passage; Kimberly Speichts, Digby; daughter-in-law, Barb Speichts, Hammonds Plains; grandchildren, Alan Comeau, Kyle Marshall, Jenna Speichts, Danielle Comeau, Marcus Speichts, Connor Speichts and Anthony Marshall; brother, Douglas (Lisa) Mt. Uniacke; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kevin; brother, Ronald. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a graveside service for Fred at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 17, in Sulis-Smith Extension Cemetery, Smiths Cove, with Lay Chaplain Jim Norton officiating. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Digby Food Bank, 75 Warwick St., Digby, N.S., B0V 1A0.
