    • Born in Meteghan River, he was a son of the late Agapit and Elizabeth (Melanson) Comeau. Bernard was a veteran of the Second World War and a life member of The Lincoln and Welland Regiment, St. Catharines, Ontario. He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Clare Branch #52, Saulnierville. He was a founding member of La Caisse Populaire de Saulnierville and a 4-H Club counsellor for many years. Bernard owned and operated The Comeau?s Garage for 25 years after which he pursued a career as a marine engineer aboard the M/V Bluenose until his retirement. In his later years, he loved to travel on organized senior tours.
