Clarence Edward Amiro -- Age 89, Lower East Pubnico died February 26, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lower East Pubnico, he was a son of the late Edgar and Febronie (Muise) Amiro. He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Barkhouse) Amiro; sons, Graham (Julie), Randy, Patrick (Ashley), all of Lower East Pubnico; and Ian (Laura), Carleton; brother, Clifford, Lower East Pubnico; sisters, Marjorie Comeau, Halifax; Eloise Forrest, Lower Sackville; Shirley Belliveau, Lower East Pubnico; and Sharon Belliveau, Lower West Pubnico; grandchildren, Miranda, Brendan, Tyler, Keira, Carter, Fenten and Leah. He was predeceased by sisters, Barbara and Rosaline. Visitation will be Friday, March 13th from 7-9 p.m. in West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 14th at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Middle East Pubnico with Father Cyrille Assihou officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses Yarmouth or East Pubnico Fire Department. Dad was a hardworking man. He started as a young man "peddling" grocery in the area, while lobster fishing in a small dory. He later bought his first of many boats creating and growing a business. He kept busy in the summer months with a single-axle dump truck delivering soil locally. As time passed, bigger trucks and backhoes replaced shovelling by hand. He did some trucking for various companies, travelling from Quebec to Newfoundland; and operated a herring roe plant. After more than five decades of working, he semi-retired from fishing, but remained active with his backhoes and dump truck. He had many jobs in his life, but the one he enjoyed the most was being a husband, Dad, and especially a Grand-père. Love You always.

Centre East Pubnico: It is with regret that we announce the death of Edgar J. Amiro who died, Tuesday, November 21st at the Yarmouth Hospital, at the age of 82. He was the son of William Amiro of this village and Ozanne Boudreau of Wedgeport.

Mr. Amiro spent 64 years of his life in a wheelchair and owned a small store for fifty years, until he stopped due to a heart attack twelve years ago.

He leaves to mourn his wife Febrenie, five daughters, Mrs.François Amirault (Rosalind), Centre East Pubnico; Mrs. John Forest (Eloise) Sackville; Mrs. Ralph Comeau (Margorie), Fairview; two twins, Mrs. Timothy Belliveau (Sharon) West Pubnico and Shirley at home; two sons, Clarence of Lower East Pubnico and Clifford at home; three brothers, Mr. Gordon, Mr. Oscar and Mr. Ernest (ill) in Kentville; two sisters, Mrs. Henri Amiro (Eleanor) and Sister Hélène at the Meteghan Convent. She was unable to attend the funeral due to illness.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 3:30, Rev. Father Maximin LeBlanc officiated. The pallbearers were Louis Amiro, Paul, John, François Amirault, Alban Amiro and Anselm d'Eon.

Edgar married Febronie Anne Muise. Febronie (daughter of Joseph Napoléon Muise and Marie Adele Amirault) was born 1908, Amiraults Hill, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada; died 6 Aug 2005, Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried , Immaculate Conception Cemetery Middle East Pubnico, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada. William married Ozanne Boudreau of Wedgeport on January 16, 1888. William went to sea at a young age and his is known to have survived no fewer than nine shipwrecks. Ironically, it was here at home that he was first injured. While crossing the track with his oxen, they were struck by the train, breaking his jaw and breaking the oxen's horns. In 1928 he fell out of a hay loft in his barn, a fall which left him disabled.

Guillaume married Ozanne Rose Boudreau 16 Jan 1888, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ozanne (daughter of Charles Marin Boudreau and Rosalie Leonisse Pothier) was born 29 Jun 1865, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co, Nova Scotia, Canada; died 10 Dec 1907, East Pubnico, Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried , Immaculate Conception Cemetery,Middle East Pubnico, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.
