    Charlestown Navy Yard maintenance head

    Harold Braid died on April 17 at his Chelsea home. He was 69 years old.

    Born in Revere and in management for the National Parks Service, he was head of maintenance for the Charlestown Navy Yard.

    He was the devoted brother of Janet Carron of Chelsea, Grace Robichaud of Saugus, Charles Braid of Chelsea and Patricia Detweiler of Florida; father of John Braid of Melrose, Tina Stickney and her husband, Shawn, of Swampscott and Peter Braid of Wakefield and is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter Sara Stickney as well as many nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Monday, April 25 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10 o?clock.     BRAID- Of Chelsea, May 2nd, Grace (Nicholson). Devoted wife of the late Harold Braid. Beloved mother of Grace Robichaud and her husband Al of Saugus, Janet Carron and her husband John "Sonny" of Chelsea, Harold Braid and his wife Kellyann Gorman of Minnesota, Patricia Detweiler and her husband Jack of New Jersey and Charles Braid of Chelsea. Sister of the late Herbert Nicholson. Cherished grandmother of Donna Moscatelli, Linda Ballard, Tricia Seigal, Kelly and Corrie Carron, John Braid, Tina Stickney, Peter Braid, Nicole and Jared Detweiler, Chucky Braid, Todd Braid, Kimberly Braid, Scott Braid and the late Richard Colarusso and Daniel Joseph Braid. Great grandmother of Tommy, Chris, Anthony, Aaron, Jason, Matthew, Lindsey, Jillian, Kelsey, Sara, Adam, Karissa and Shawna. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday morning, May 5th at 10 AM with the Rev. Thomas Coots, officiating. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
