    Armand J. Girouard Jr. 1938 - 2008 SPRINGFIELD - Armand J. Girouard Jr., 69, of Spruceland Avenue died Sunday, surr-ounded by his family, after a long illness. Armand was born in Springfield, grew up in West Springfield and returned to Springfield where he has lived for the past 35 years. He graduated from West Springfield High School and was the recipient of the Jimmy Piersall Baseball Award. He achieved his business degree from WNEC and owned and operated United Consolidation Trucking Company for 12 years. He then continued his education in psychology at STCC and became a Drug and Alcohol counselor for the Opportunity House in Springfield for 12 years. He was an avid golfer and American Legion baseball player and was a well-known softball and baseball umpire in the area. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge after 4 years. While in the trucking business he served as president of the Springfield Traffic Club and the Delta Nu Alpha Traffic Fraternity. His wife of 35 years Gloria A. (Ristaino) Girouard died December 28, 2007. He was predeceased by his stepson Ralph M. Moriarty in 2006. He leaves his stepdaughter Lori M. Moriarty of Westfield; three daughters Gina M. Girouard -O'Neill of West Springfield, Valerie A. Girouard of Hampden, Kathleen T. Girouard- Ulloa of Medford; his first wife Beverly Girouard of Medford; a sister Helen Louise Calabrese of West Springfield; his grandchildren Jaclyn and Alyxandra O'Neil, Zoe Morris, Mariah and Madison Girouard, Samantha and Gabriela Ulloa, Briana, Nina, Anthony and Vincenzo Carbone, and Jason and Kelley Moriarty. He also leaves a cousin Victor DeAngelo of Springfield; his nephew Anthony Calabrese and nieces Jennifer Demerski, Christine Tamar Hashimi and Tracey Mouton; and his dear friends Gino Mirolli, Kevin Fedora and Phil and Suzanne Carbone, as well as three great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 11:30am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral Monday from 10:30-11:30am.     Gloria Adelina Girouard 1929-2007 SPRINGFIELD-Gloria Adelina (Ristaino) Girouard, 78, of 50 Spruceland Avenue died Friday in a local nursing home with her daughter by her side. She was born in Agawam, daughter of the late Michael Ristaino and Lucy (Asta-Ferrero) Vasso and grew up in Rockland, Maine. She was a baton twirler for the award winning Sons of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp in Rockland, where she was the first and only female of the corps. She was also a future Drum Major. Gloria was a dancer and self-employed exercise instructor, originating "Dancercize" and was also a fitness co-coordinator and instructor for the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield. She would often be featured on Channel 22's Kitty Broman and Channel 40's Barbara Bernard Shows, demonstrating her exercise techniques. She leaves her husband Armand J. Girouard Jr., a daughter Lori Marie Moriarty of Westfield, a brother Michael Ristaino of Feeding Hills, three sisters, Mary Rotz of Deland, FL, Linda Lucia of Westfield and Debbie Vasso of Chicopee, six grandchildren, Briana, Nina, Anthony and Vincenzo Carbone of Westfield and Jason and Kelley Moriarty of Cape Cod, three step daughters, Gina O'Neill of West Springfield, Valerie Girouard of Hampden and Kathleen Ulloa of Medfield, a daughter in law Karen Moriarty of Cape Cod, three great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ralph Michael Moriarty, her sister Joan Coffey, her first husband Ralph F. Moriarty and her step father Joseph Vasso. The funeral will be Friday at 12:30 pm at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral on Friday from 11am to 12:30 .
