Text: From Stephen A. White. Agnes-Eulalie is described as a legitimate child in her baptismal record, but her parents were only married on 29 Jul 1743, nearly six months after her birth. "This irregularity was apparently the reason for her being sometimes called BRUN and sometimes PELLERIN." If parents are correct, they would have been first cousins.
"I list Joseph BRUN as...father along with a question mark and a substantial explanatory note regarding her alias and what it is likely to mean."

Pierre died on December 26, 1704 at his home in Port Royal, Acadia. Pierre's funeral records states: "Citizen and miller at the top of the Port Royal River and at the place called Pree' Rounde. He received the Last Sacraments and was buried the 27th of the said month of this year (December 1704), in the cemetary of this parish, with ordinary ceremonies. Michel and Antoine, their sons, stayed at the grave until the day after her death, with the cure' of Breslay. One more time, the entire colony of Pree' Ronde had the burden of transporting the body to Port Royal in snow and cold of December, and one can imagine the emotion at the long family funeral procession.
In 1981, a monument was erected by the Nova Scotia Museum director J.L. Martin, who furnished the plaque, and by the joing efforts of the Historical Association of Annapolis Royal, and La Societe Historique Acadienne de la Baie Sainte-Marie, honoring our ancestor Pierre Thibodeau.

    Notes:

Several miles above the fort at Port-Royal, there was a spot on the Annapolis River that was called in the eighteenth century "l'Esturgeon." the nickname given to Pierre Comeau the elder derived from that place, because that is where he settled.
    (note fact or fiction ??????)

Aug 1695 (old style): Pierre Comeau took the oath of allegiance to the King of England at Port-Royal; he made his mark on the document.

He is obviously "L'Aine" meaning the oldest because he is the 1st-born Pierre of Pierre and Rose Bayou. In the marriage of his daughter Anne in 1707, he is referred to as "Pierre L'Aine dit L'Estourgeon".
showing dit distinguishes from brother and other relatives with same name the reason they used the dit
